Fundraising Projects for JWMS Bands
The band program participates in five fundraisers each year to help raise funds for student awards, transportation to events and festivals, festival entry fees, scholarships for band tshirts and festivals and meals for events. Please help our program and our students by participating in any of the fundraisers below. We thank you for your support.
Community Discount Card Fundraiser - August/September
The JWMS Band will be selling Community Discount Cards. The discount card offers 25 discounts in our community ranging in discounts for restaurants, to clothing, to oil changes. The cost of the card is $10. You can use the card as many times as you like in one year (expires August 31, 2023). If you are interested in purchasing a Community Discount Card for Cathedral City or any other city, please contact Ms. Dean-Knapp and place your order.
Beginning Band Sales Goal
Student in Beginning Band will have the opportunity to earn a free band tshirt if they sell 5 discount cards and they earn a free pizza party for themself and a friend if they sell 10 or more cards. Students need to sell all their cards within the dates of the fundraiser to be eligible for prizes.
Concert Band and Wind Ensemble Sales Goal
For every card you sell, you earn a $5 discount prize for your Forum Music Festival/Knott's Berry Farm Trip. If you sell 14 discount cards your trip is free! Parent Chaperone tickets can also be fundraised. 8 discount cards pays for one chaperone ticket.

JWMS Fall Festival - October
Each year the band program hosts game booths at the school's Fall Festival. We need donations of bags of candy to hand out as prizes (sign up during band to donate candy). We also need student volunteers to help run the booths and parent volunteers to assist with supervision. If you are interested in volunteering for this event or making a candy/prize donation, please see Ms. Dean-Knapp.
JWMS Fall Festival - Game Booths
Each year the band hosts game booths at the school's fall festival. We are in need of donations of candy for our event. Donations of candy can be delivered to the band room starting in October. All leftover/unopened candy bags will be donated to Operation Gratitude at the USO in Palm Springs. The JWMS Band and CJSF are happy supporters of our brave military. If you have unopened bags of candy after Halloween, please feel free to drop them off in the band room before or after school.
Cookie Dough Fundraiser - October/November
THIS IS OUR BIGGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR! EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD SELLING COOKIE DOUGH MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
Fundraising Goal - Each student sells 10 tubs of Cookie Dough.

10 Tubs - Same as above and you earn a free tub of cookie dough. Keep it or sell it, the choice is yours.
15 Tubs - Same as above and you are free lunch for you and a friend of your choice to In-N-Out. Burger, Fries and your choices of Soda.
20 Tubs - Same as above (up to 15 tubs prize) and you earn a $15 gift certificate to Starbucks.
30 Tubs - Same as above (up to 15 tubs prize) and you earn a $50 gift certificate to Starbucks.
40 Tubs - Same as above (up to 15 tubs prize) and you earn a $75 gift certificate to Starbucks.
50 Tubs - Same as above (up to 15 tubs prize) and you earn $100 CASH!

Car Wash at JWMS Bus Lane - February
Students will be able to pre-sell car wash tickets for our Band Car Wash. (8am-12pm) in the JWMS Bus Lane. Car washes are $5 pre-sale and $8 the day of the car wash.

Stardust Arts Showcase at CCHS - Early March
This is the final fundraiser for the year! We ask parents to donate items that we sell at our food booth (breakfast items and deluxe nacho booth) and purchase and sell tickets for the event. All profits go to support our students at JWMS. You will receive information regarding which items we are in need of for the event and when you can drop off those items when we get closer to the event.
The most important part of this event succeeding is having parent volunteers to help run our booth from 7am until 6pm. You can do a 2 hour shift or donate your day to the band. We need helpers! There will be sign ups when we get closer to the event but if you are dedicated and excited to help, please let use know asap! :)
